What's New

Release notes for mBox

2026-10-02 Version history and first-submission details now work for every project, open and share more of your markups from a link, a tidier AI review, and smoother inbox browsing.

Improved

  • Version history for every project: older projects created before version tracking existed now have a full version history and a Details view of their first submission — showing every submitted data point, not an empty list.
  • Open markups and assets from a link, everywhere: comment attachments, asset headers in comments, and the "has markup" marker on a comment now open the viewer through the page link — so you can copy it, open it in a new tab, or share it to land on that exact view. The browser Back button closes whatever a link opened.
  • A cleaner AI review: findings no longer show the extra AI reasoning block, so each result is quicker to scan.
  • Tidier inbox rows: the unread dot now sits before the title and the submission tag lines up neatly after the project name.
  • Easier column picker: click anywhere on a row to show or hide that column — no need to aim for the checkbox.

Fixed

  • Thumbnails now show for each entry in the version picker.
  • Switching between inbox items now takes you back to the top of the project view instead of opening partway down where the previous item was scrolled.
2026-10-01 Sort, resize, and tailor your project and settings lists, open a markup straight from a link, rename knowledge base properties, and enjoy a cleaner AI assistant.

New

  • Make the projects list your own: sort by any column, resize columns, show or hide the ones you care about, and drag headings to reorder them. Your layout is remembered for next time. Right-click a project row for quick actions.
  • Redesigned settings: every settings list — users, properties, territories, stages, workflows, and more — now has the same sortable, resizable, customizable columns, plus a new grouped, collapsible settings menu.
  • Rename a knowledge base property: you can now rename a property from its knowledge base.
  • See where an asset is used: a knowledge base asset now lists the styleguide rules that reference it.
  • Shareable markup links: opening a markup or an asset now updates the page link, so you can copy it, open it in a new tab, or share it to jump straight back to that exact view.

Improved

  • Breadcrumbs that trace your path: the top bar now remembers how you got to a page and shows a trail back through where you've been, including a quick way back to your inbox.
  • Clearer settings errors: if saving or deleting something in settings doesn't work, you now see the reason instead of a silent no-op.
  • Full timestamps on hover: hover any relative date (like "2 days ago") to see the exact date and time.

Fixed

  • The AI chat assistant sometimes repeated itself — a paragraph shown twice around a card, or the same chart drawn twice. Replies now show each piece once.
  • Saving a property could fail silently; property changes now save reliably.
  • Fixed the rule scope picker where the list could overlap the search box.
  • Lists and tables no longer briefly flash stale content when you rename or change an item.
  • Broken project thumbnails no longer keep retrying.
  • Table rows no longer flicker when you hover over them.
2026-09-28 Hover an @mention to see who it is, get clearer AI review status, and enjoy a faster, snappier interface.

New

  • @mention cards: hover an @mention in a comment or while typing to see a quick card with that person's details.
  • Clearer AI review status: the review summary now shows when a review is generating, when it can't run yet because the property has no knowledge base (with a shortcut to create one), or when it has failed (with a retry).

Improved

  • Snappier interface: lists, tables, and the image markup viewer now open and update instantly.
  • Faster AI assistant: the assistant now opens without a first-time delay.
  • Keep cleaned artwork intact: when adding a knowledge base asset, setting sensitivity to 0 now leaves your image untouched, so already-cleaned artwork keeps every detail.
  • Easier back-navigation: opening a project from your inbox now keeps an Inbox breadcrumb so you can get back to where you were.

Fixed

  • Clicking a comment's attached image now responds only on the image and its name, not on the empty space beside it.
  • The "What's new" list in the help menu no longer shows unpublished items or a gray placeholder image.
  • The app stays responsive and can still display maintenance notices during a temporary service interruption.
2026-09-24 Browse a new Projects list, step through project versions to see exactly what changed, and let the AI assistant take action for you.

New

  • A new Projects page lists every project you have access to, with sortable, reorderable, and pinnable columns, quick search, and pagination.
  • Project versions: switch between a project's versions to view its details exactly as they were at each submission.
  • See what changed between versions: the details section highlights which fields were added, changed, or cleared from one version to the next.
  • Field history: open any project detail field to see a timeline of how its value changed over time.
  • The AI assistant can now take action: it can suggest actions, open the right page for you, and help you start a handoff. Press Enter to send a message, Shift+Enter for a new line.
  • A new About mBox AI page and an in-chat disclaimer explain how the assistant works.
  • An in-app help menu, a product changelog, and guided product tours are now available in the app.

Improved

  • Clearer AI review status: when a review fails or comes back empty, the app now explains why, and results update live so the status never lags behind.
  • The Generate and Regenerate AI review buttons now appear only when a review can actually be run.
  • Confirmation on delete: destructive actions now ask you to confirm before they go through.
  • Hovering a project's reviewers now shows a cleaner summary card.

Fixed

  • Your AI chat history no longer disappears if a response is interrupted.
  • Imported project text that previously showed odd characters (such as `&`) now displays correctly.
  • Comment tooltips and the author-name hover work correctly again.
  • Collapsing the sidebar now closes an open comment thread, and replies reopen the thread as expected.
  • The help button stays in place in the navigation, and its tooltip no longer sticks open after you click a link.
2026-09-14 Collaborate on reviews right from the project page, and count on your inbox to reach you.

New

  • See who's reviewing a project at a glance, and add or remove reviewers and viewers directly from the project page. Search for people and groups, and see who has reviewed, who's still pending, and who hasn't looked yet.
  • Reviewers can now set their review status and mark a project as reviewed. Clear badges show the overall review outcome, the current submission version, and when a project is waiting on the licensee.

Improved

  • Safer workspace management: workspaces are now deactivated (and can be restored later) instead of being permanently deleted, with a confirmation step to prevent accidental loss.
  • Cleaner inbox: removed the unused star icon from message rows.

Fixed

  • Your inbox now reliably reaches you: you consistently receive updates for the projects you have access to, and notifications that were previously missed have been restored. Being mentioned notifies you once without changing what you're subscribed to, and opting out of a project is always respected.
2026-09-11 Set and see review status on a project, manage reviewers in one place, and get more reliable inbox updates.

New

  • You can now set your own review status on a project — Approved, Needs revision, or reviewed — right from the project header.
  • See everyone reviewing a project at a glance, and add or remove reviewers from a single place on the project page.

Improved

  • Inbox rows are cleaner and easier to scan.
  • Keyboard shortcuts now show as clear chips in tooltips, and navigation icons line up neatly across the app.

Fixed

  • You now reliably receive inbox updates for projects that were created before you were added, so nothing slips through.
  • Being mentioned notifies you once without quietly subscribing you to everything on that project — and once you unsubscribe, it stays that way.
  • Form fields no longer leave an empty gap below them; an error message appears only when there's actually something to fix.
2026-09-07 A brand-new licensing approval platform: create projects, submit media for review, and get AI-assisted brand-compliance feedback — with a redesigned inbox, rich commenting, and image markup.

New

  • Create licensing projects and submit media for review at each stage of your approval workflow.
  • Build a knowledge base of brand guidelines and styleguide rules, with reference assets to match against.
  • Automated brand-compliance review checks submitted media against your styleguide rules and surfaces findings.
  • An in-app AI assistant helps you draft and refine rules, research topics, and find precedent.
  • A redesigned inbox brings all your notifications into one place, with mark-as-read, done, snooze, favorite, and delete.
  • Comment on media with reactions, @-mentions, rich hover cards, and per-audience visibility.
  • Draw annotations directly on images and anchor comments to a specific shape or region.
  • Finish a review and submit your decision, with an automatically generated summary.
  • Company and workspace management, plus settings for territories and team members.
  • Analytics dashboards for submissions and review activity.
  • Keyboard shortcuts throughout, with a shortcuts overview and command menu.
  • On-device text translation for the interface.

Improved

  • Faster AI reviews and more responsive image matching on larger rule sets.
  • Clearer, more concise AI review summaries.
  • Refreshed typography and visual design across the app.
  • Smoother loading with contextual placeholders instead of full-screen spinners.
  • Unified, URL-synced filters across knowledge base and project pages so you can share and bookmark views.
  • Pinch-to-zoom now works on the markup canvas on iPad.
  • Redesigned inbox filters, search, and empty states.
  • Tooltips and keyboard-shortcut hints added across actions.

Fixed

  • Images no longer flicker when switching browser tabs.
  • Broken image previews now show a clean placeholder instead of a broken icon.
  • Comment dropdowns and popovers now close correctly when clicking elsewhere.
  • Login now always prompts for your credentials instead of silently redirecting.
  • Removed duplicate review actions and prevented duplicate submissions from repeated clicks.
  • Various display, overflow, and alignment fixes across projects, comments, and the inbox.
